Seven Things Meme

I have been tagged twice now by Frances Manning and Allison Hall to take part in this meme. I tend to run away from these as I don't think I have many unusual things to share so here goes

1. I once lived in my car - a two door Torana- for about a week when I first moved to Adelaide to do my Dip Ed at Adelaide Uni. Later in the year I lived at the historic Stonyfell House and read books about Virginia Woolf and had dreams in the beautiful old garden.

2.I collect stuff from the 1950s- anodised aluminium goblets and canisters and Fisher price toys-pre 1988 when they were taken over by Mattel. They are so beautiful and unique and I just love collecting!

3.I used to sing in choirs and madrigals and in operas. I have performed at the Palais and the Arts centre. All this was BK (before kids) and I often wonder about taking it up again.

4. I did a grad dip in horticulture when I was home on family leave with my kids- I had never been so excited about learning!!

5. My dad died of cancer when I was 15 and my mum died four years ago also from cancer ...mmm still thinkin about that one

6.I used to be part of a theatre group performing on stage and working backstage and I produced lots of musicals for my school.

7. My first school was at a place called Manangatang in the Mallee area of Victoria- it used to be a joke at uni that you could end up there!!

There you are nothing very exciting - I warned you!

I tag Simon Brown, Pam Arvanitakis, Dean Groom, Judy O'Connell, Tania Sheko, Anne Murchison and Jo McLeay!!

Thanks Sue for tagging me for the meme. I was just going through my google reader catching up on my blog subscriptions, read your post first and realised I had been tagged. So I have added you to the post that I wrote along with the other two Aussies who tagged me. See it at http://murcha.wordpress.com/2008/12/31/7-things-you-dont-need-to-know-about-me/
I do enjoy memes as I learn so much more about the people I am connected with. It is now 12 months since I got to know you and now feel like you are a long time friend. Looking forward to working with you in 2009

When I was growing up in central Victoria (Castlemaine) if someone was playing badly (Australian rules) the saying went that "he couldn't get a game with the Manangatang thirds". I always wondered whether in fact Manangatang had a team in the thirds...guess that answers itself!!
